2. LAYOUT BENCHWORK


Having a 4' x 8' layout in the middle of a 12' x 10' room calls for it to be mobile.The north and west walls have windows in the middle of the walls. The south has a closet door and a room access door.  The west, south and east walls have shelves.  Moving the layout around does not guarantee a level spot will be found each time it moves. The layout must be capable of being leveled and movable as well.

I started with 2x4 base and sides, 3 in movable wheels with brakes, and 1/4 in table leveling units:


Then I used 1x2 and 1x4 for braces and girders:


I then added 1x2  on top of 1x3 for risers, allowing for a 3 in gap between table top and benchwork for wiring and later raising and lowering of the table top in various areas:
